I'm in a pickle cause I want a comptech supercharger on my 04 RSX but a lot of my friends r tellin me to go wit a turbo cause it can bold more boost than a supercharger. But a turbo also can't reach it's full power until after Vtech, and if I get the superchargerI wont have to worry bout it laggin cause I'll be runnin boost all the time.

trust me man.. this topic comes up all the time.. and a supercharger on a 4 cyclinder is way too much drag on the engine.. on average it takes 35% of the engines power and gives 50-70% more.. a turbo is almost free horsepower considering its exaust driven.. its also much easier to up the boost.. takes a simple boost controller or stiffer wastegate spring.. with superchargers if you have to get smaller pullies and different sized belts and all the junk.. way more a pain in the ***..

if your worried about spool time for turbo's dont be.. a supercharger obviously has better response than a turbo but consider this.. the average turbo will spool at about 3000-4500 depending on the size of trim the compressor wheel is, .AR of the exaust turbine, and how free flowing your 02 pipe and downpipe are.. once your hit Vtech youl easily be fully spooled or close to it.. slam it into the next gear and your car will drop to what? 6200 rpm? your turbo is still spinning like mad and youl keep ALL your boost given the proper set up.. when your racing.. lag should never be an issue.. i have a couple friends with SRT-4 running GT35R.. 70 trim turbo.. its Massive.. like a 60 lb/min turbo.. they keep all there boost in between shifts and it spools around 4000 rpm.. we redline at 6200 so thats 2k less than you!..

in the end i believe a turbo is much more efficient and better off in all categories... good luck on your decision.Edited by: d-man05
